A Quick Note on Following Your Dreams, Girl

So hi wonderfuls.

I know I've definitely talked about this before on this blog, but I want to talk about it again because I've been thinking about it a lot lately. What we all have to realize is that our time on this Earth is limited and so investing your time and your work into something that you don't love or even something that you think will make you money in the long run, but doesn't intrigue you is a waste. Sure, it may be harder to get a job (depending on what you're shooting for), but you will always make it work. I'm very happy with where I am now in terms of my major and my life choices. However, I will never let myself forget how bored and miserable I was when I was in a major that I only chose because I thought it would make money in the future. I will never go back to that.

It's a very scary thing to dive into something that you want, but comes with a great deal of uncertainty. Trust yourself. You wouldn't (hopefully) make a choice that would sabotage yourself in the long run. I have a (new! Yay!) friend that is struggling with this right now, and I just want to tell him, "GIRL, LOVE URSELF DON'T DO WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO DO". Of course, I have no place to tell him what to do in his life. But, I can tell just by talking to him that, even though he hasn't made a decision about his future yet, he's leeeeaning. Leaning towards doing what he really wants to do. I hope that he can make the decision that will be best for him, but I will always recommend trusting and following your gut. Now, let's all go get ice cream and hug each other.

Till next time, lovelies!

P.S. I know this isn't about beauty or fashion which is kind of what this blog has turned into. I would like to do more posts like this, just spewing thoughts at y'all sometimes, if'n you would be down. Let me know! Thanks doodz.

What I Wore: Sunday Brunch!

Hello chickadees!

So today, I'm going to Sunday brunch with my boyfriend and his family and I wanted to look sort-of spiffy casual. One of my favorite looks for fall is a sweater with the collar poking out. It looks flattering on everyone and is a very easy way to make your outfit look put together and chic :)

Here's my look!

Collared shirt - Ann Taylor
Sweatshirt - Forever 21
Jeans - Gap Kids
Booties - H&M
Here's a closer look at the cute collar!

Weee rhinestones! :)
Nail Polish - Essie Bahama Mama
This look is so easy to wear and is really easy to recreate! We all have collared shirts and sweaters hiding in our closets. Get 'em out and try out this super chic for fall! :)

Till next time, lovelies!

Warby Parker! Yay!

Hallo kiddos!

So today I wanted to talk to you about a super cool company that I've used before, Warby Parker. If you wear glasses, you may have heard of them; they've become pretty popular in the last few months.

My awesome glasses from Warby Parker!
Watts in Sugar Maple

Warby Parker sells glasses and sunglasses for around $95 each. They're sort of like Toms in that whenever you purchase glasses from them, they donate a pair to someone who needs them! They have so many cool styles and tons of colors for your glasses. I have the Watts style in Sugar Maple, which I've linked here

Another cool thing about Warby Parker: they offer a feature called Home Try-On! It can be risky to order glasses online; you don't know how they'll fit or even if a certain style will look super rad on you. Warby Parker solves this problem! You can pick 5 styles you like and Warby Parker will ship them to you (for free! The best price), you can try them on, and ship them back for free within 5 days. It's just a way to see which ones you like without having to track down a Warby Parker store. Just another way that Warby Parker is lookin' out for ya!

Just so y'all know, Warby Parker hasn't sponsored me (obvi). I just wanted to inform you guys a little more about a company I've loved interacting with! Check 'em out if you are in the market for some new specs :)

Till next time, lovelies!
