My Thanksgiving Makeup Look!

Hey sweet thangs!

Hopefully you saw my Thanksgiving Outfit of the Day, which you can find here! This is the makeup look I wore with it!

I've been LOVING dark lips this season. I think that anyone can wear a dark lip and make it look incredible; you just have to find the right shade for you! Whether that's a burgundy, purple, or an awesome wine shade, there are so many dark, vampy colors to choose from! I love pairing dark lips with a shimmery champagne eye. The contrast looks so lovely together. Here's my look with the products listed below!

NYX Boheme Chic Nude Matte Collection (very bottom left hand) for eyebrows
e.l.f. Eyelid Primer
Stila Kitten (all over lid)
Stila Sunset (in the crease)
Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Nude
e.l.f. Blush in St. Lucia
Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Parisian Passion
(review on this product coming soon! I love this so much!)

Till next time, lovelies!

P.S. Yes, I did get my hair chopped! I love it so far, but it'll take a sec to get used to. Maybe I'll write a post on it sometime soon? ;) Thanks guys!

First, my outfit!

A Quick Note on Following Your Dreams, Girl

So hi wonderfuls.

I know I've definitely talked about this before on this blog, but I want to talk about it again because I've been thinking about it a lot lately. What we all have to realize is that our time on this Earth is limited and so investing your time and your work into something that you don't love or even something that you think will make you money in the long run, but doesn't intrigue you is a waste. Sure, it may be harder to get a job (depending on what you're shooting for), but you will always make it work. I'm very happy with where I am now in terms of my major and my life choices. However, I will never let myself forget how bored and miserable I was when I was in a major that I only chose because I thought it would make money in the future. I will never go back to that.

It's a very scary thing to dive into something that you want, but comes with a great deal of uncertainty. Trust yourself. You wouldn't (hopefully) make a choice that would sabotage yourself in the long run. I have a (new! Yay!) friend that is struggling with this right now, and I just want to tell him, "GIRL, LOVE URSELF DON'T DO WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO DO". Of course, I have no place to tell him what to do in his life. But, I can tell just by talking to him that, even though he hasn't made a decision about his future yet, he's leeeeaning. Leaning towards doing what he really wants to do. I hope that he can make the decision that will be best for him, but I will always recommend trusting and following your gut. Now, let's all go get ice cream and hug each other.

Till next time, lovelies!

P.S. I know this isn't about beauty or fashion which is kind of what this blog has turned into. I would like to do more posts like this, just spewing thoughts at y'all sometimes, if'n you would be down. Let me know! Thanks doodz.

What I Wore: Sunday Brunch!

Hello chickadees!

So today, I'm going to Sunday brunch with my boyfriend and his family and I wanted to look sort-of spiffy casual. One of my favorite looks for fall is a sweater with the collar poking out. It looks flattering on everyone and is a very easy way to make your outfit look put together and chic :)

Here's my look!

Collared shirt - Ann Taylor
Sweatshirt - Forever 21
Jeans - Gap Kids
Booties - H&M
Here's a closer look at the cute collar!

Weee rhinestones! :)
Nail Polish - Essie Bahama Mama
This look is so easy to wear and is really easy to recreate! We all have collared shirts and sweaters hiding in our closets. Get 'em out and try out this super chic for fall! :)

Till next time, lovelies!

Warby Parker! Yay!

Hallo kiddos!

So today I wanted to talk to you about a super cool company that I've used before, Warby Parker. If you wear glasses, you may have heard of them; they've become pretty popular in the last few months.

My awesome glasses from Warby Parker!
Watts in Sugar Maple

Warby Parker sells glasses and sunglasses for around $95 each. They're sort of like Toms in that whenever you purchase glasses from them, they donate a pair to someone who needs them! They have so many cool styles and tons of colors for your glasses. I have the Watts style in Sugar Maple, which I've linked here

Another cool thing about Warby Parker: they offer a feature called Home Try-On! It can be risky to order glasses online; you don't know how they'll fit or even if a certain style will look super rad on you. Warby Parker solves this problem! You can pick 5 styles you like and Warby Parker will ship them to you (for free! The best price), you can try them on, and ship them back for free within 5 days. It's just a way to see which ones you like without having to track down a Warby Parker store. Just another way that Warby Parker is lookin' out for ya!

Just so y'all know, Warby Parker hasn't sponsored me (obvi). I just wanted to inform you guys a little more about a company I've loved interacting with! Check 'em out if you are in the market for some new specs :)

Till next time, lovelies!

Two Looks, One Piece :)

A big part of my wardrobe are basic, versatile pieces. Wherever you see classy and chic style, be it in a blog, a magazine, Pinterest, or on the street, the women (and men) working this awesome style use awesome basics. Today, I thought I'd show you two ways in which I style one of my absolute favorite pieces!

The piece in question is a wonderful grey sweater from Ann Taylor that I got last year and I'm seriously obsessed with for fall and winter.

Here are my looks!

Grey Sweater - Ann Taylor
Jeans - Gap Kids
Shoes - Steve Madden from DSW
Not pictured - blue square earrings ~ you'll see them soon :)
Also, excuse my weird face. Don't know what that is.
I wore this look to class for the day. The jeans keep the look casual and this outfit is seriously so comfortable. I really like sweaters and jeans for the fall, which I'm sure you'll see on this blog eventually. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons to dress for...because layering and also sweaters :)

Two classes and one nap later, I put on my second outfit for work!

Grey Sweater - Ann Taylor
Pencil Skirt - Forever 21
Nude Heels - Merona from Target
Necklace - Ann Taylor
Lipstick - Wet 'N' Wild in Dark Wine
I actually work at Ann Taylor so I have to dress up for work a bit. I love dressing up a plain-ish outfit with a nice necklace and some awesome lipstick, especially during this time of year. Let me know down below if you want to see some more looks of what I wear to work!

This sweater is one of my favorite pieces and I love the versatility of it. I'm sure this kind of post will come back in the future because I live for the versatility of pieces. Just gives you more outfit options, and ain't nothing wrong with that!

'Til next time, lovelies!

What I Wore...Last Saturday :)

Waddup weirdos. Some things need to be addressed, so let's do that!

Firstly, I moved! It's taken a while to get settled in completely and that's why I haven't posted in about 40 years. It's given me a lot of time to think about ideas for blog posts though, so expect more from me soon!

Secondly, I started school this past Monday. So that's been a bit of a time suck as well. But I'm back! Huzzah!

So, I'm a huge fan of theatre, a fact you may know if you read one of my super duper old blog posts (here it is!). I love to attend productions around my area. I attended the tale of Sweeney Todd last weekend and thought I'd show you what I wore, since I dressed up kinda fancy :) Here we go!

T-shirt : Forever 21
Blazer : Ann Taylor
Jeans : Gap Kids (Hey, I'm tiny and they fit me really well)
Shoes : Steve Madden (from DSW)

I also took pictures of my makeup and I'll show what products I used below :)

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Damsel

That's all she wrote! 'Til next time, lovelies!

What I Wore - 7/20

For today's outfit, I needed something super comfy for my 100 mile drive home. However, I still wanted to try to look cute and classy because...I like doing that. SO I opted for an easy black and white outfit!

I love this graphic tank because it's chic and comfy (a combination I will be obsessed with until the end of time). And I'm OBSESSED with these new joggers that I got from Forever 21 recently! These pants were a style that I had never tried before, so I was a bit apprehensive at first, but now I love them! Also, the fact that this outfit is so simple and timeless with the black and white makes it so easy to wear!  With my go-to black sandals and my Warby Parker specs, I'm ready for my comfy drive home!

Tank - Love Culture
Joggers - Forever 21
Sandals - Target
Glasses - Watts by Warby Parker

Also, pardon my horribly messy room and bare walls. I'm in the process of moving out of my apartment, which is not my favorite thing.

Till next time, lovelies!

Products I Swear By: Seche Vite Top Coat

If you're anything like me, you paint your nails often. I get really bothered by any chips in my nail polish, and I love seeing different colors when I look down at my hands and toes, so I've been known to paint my nails multiple times a week. Because of this, I need a top coat that will do an amazing job. I recently discovered Seche Vite at my local CVS and, because I've heard about it from multiple beauty bloggers and vloggers, I immediately picked it up!

Here's why I love it!

  • It dries so quickly! I've never had a top coat that dries faster. And it's not the type of "dry" where your nails aren't dripping but they're still all slodgy and goopy. After about a minute, they're dry as can be. I love this because I use my hands all the time, so I don't have a ton of time to sit around waiting for my nails to dry. With this top coat, I don't have to!
  • The price for the quantity! I can't understand why some nail polishes are so expensive. God knows I love me some Essie nail polish, but that stuff is $8 or $9 a bottle. Seche Vite is $7.59 a bottle (at CVS) for half an ounce of polish, where Essie only has .46 fl oz. And because you use this polish after every mani and pedi, the value for the money is really great!
  • Your nails won't chip! Well, at least not for a while. With this top coat, I've had my polishes on for almost a week before they chipped.
All in all, I love this top coat because it takes at least part of the annoyance out of painting my nails. You don't have to sit around for ages waiting for it to dry and you don't have to worry about your nails getting ruined too soon after you've painted them. I love it! It can be found at your local drug stores so go pick it up and see for yourself!

What I Wore! 7/17

My personal style involves quite a lot of "less is more". I just love it; it allows you to glam up your outfit in more subtle and fun ways! Usually this means a fun statement necklace or a bright lip, but today my patterned shorts brought the brightness! I absolutely adore florals; the prints, the smells, and just having flowers around my apartment. Paired with a light, drapey tee in my favorite color (grey) and some nude flats, this makes a simple yet put-together and summery outfit fit for any day :)

Top - Forever 21
Shorts - Forever 21
Shoes - DSW
Glasses - Watts by Warby Parker

New Collab Video with Rachel from Budgeted Chic!

Earlier this week, I went to Ulta for the very first time with my girl Rachel, who runs a fine, fresh, fierce blog called Budgeted Chic (click the link here or in the sidebar to go check it out!). We went on a real spree. Afterwards, we filmed a video for her YouTube channel! I thought I'd post the video up on Quest for Class for your visual pleasure! Enjoy :)
